The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials helps to improve our environmental health by encouraging reuse and diverting thousands of pounds of household hazardous waste and other hard-to-recycle items from Metro-Atlanta landfills and water systems. Re:Loom employs and empowers homeless and low income individuals through weaving beautiful, original products from upcycled materials. We love Re:Loom as it is a program of the Initiative for Affordable Housing so while they are upcycling materials, they are also providing holistic social services to allow individuals to achieve independence.
Chatahoochee Riverkeepers' mission is
to educate, advocate and secure the protection and stewardship of the Chattahoochee River, including its lakes, tributaries and watershed, in order to restore and conserve their ecological health for the people and wildlife that depend on the river system and in recognition of the important ecosystem functions provided throughout the region and planet.
